In Progress

2011 - Present

Various smaller in scope but still long term works in progress that I haven’t decided what I will do with yet. Usually these start from a single image, or a handful, then develop into larger bodies of work.

Glue is a series of photos shot at Perl conferences and workshops in Europe and America. Perl was one of the programming languages that bootstrapped a lot of internet based companies in the mid/late 1990s and early 2000s. Perl was considered a “glue” language by some, but has fallen out of favour as newer languages have taken its place. The title is a metaphor not just for the language but also for shrinking of the community at the events the photos are shot at.

3 Steps From My Bed includes photos taken from the window of every place I have slept in since 2014. This is, in a way, a meta project as most of these places I am staying in are because of other photo projects I am working on. Often these images could be titled “Room without a view”.
